One month into the new year, preparations for the upcoming 25th anniversary congress in Vienna are already well under way.
‘What’s new’, ‘what’s hot’ and ‘what’s not’ were the themes that guided the creation of this year’s scientific programme, as it took shape under the ever-watchful eyes of the Scientific Programme Committee.

February Talk of the Month: ‘Early intervention and youth mental health’ |

This month's talk is by Professor Patrick McGorry, Executive Director of Orygen Youth Health (OYH), founding board member of Headspace (National Youth Mental Health Foundation, Australia) and Australian of the Year 2010.
Professor McGorry explains the importance of early intervention with regards to youth mental health care. He advocates a 2-tiered approach of intervention that begins by making educational, stigma-free information available to the public and raising awareness about youth mental health within the community.

ECNP School of Neuropsychopharmacology 2012, Oxford, UK – application period open |

ECNP is accepting applications for the fourth ECNP School of Neuropsychopharmacology, to be held from 8 to 13 July this year.
Selected participants from across Europe will travel to St. Catherine’s College in Oxford for the chance to attend a week-long programme of intensive training in all aspects of neuropsychopharmacology.
Applications are open to psychiatrists who are within five years of receiving their defining qualification. A maximum of 50 participants will be accepted; their travel and accommodation expenses will be substantially covered by ECNP.
