Submitted abstracts will be included in the scientific programme of the 18th Annual Scientific Meeting of the
European Association for Osseointegration (Monaco, September 30 – October 3, 2009) as for Research competition, oral communications and poster presentations.
Abstracts, in English only, can be submitted online until March 1st, 2009. Abstracts must be submitted on or
before the closing date. Please note that late submissions will not be considered.
The author must submit a summary of the work (max. 400 words), applying in one the 6 proposed topics :
Implant Aesthetics
Implant Surgery, including Guided Surgery
Technical and Biological Complications
Tissue Augmentation and Tissue Engineering
Long-Term Studies
Material Research
The abstract should arrive in four sections, with the following sub-headings: Background and Aim, Methods and Materials,
Results, Conclusion.
It is possible to submit more than one abstract. However, one author can be presenter only once.
EAO Research Prizes will be awarded for the best oral communications in Clinical Research and in Basic Research Competitions.…more information.
The EAO has decided to help young and talented scientists to present their latest research by providing them travel grants.
20 travel grants awardees will be selected among the abstract presenters (oral communications and posters). The grants will be to the value of 800 € and awarded directly on site and the registration fees will be waived.…more information
The Abstract Committee will review all abstracts which have been submitted on time and in the specified
format. Only abstracts of high quality will be accepted.
All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their submission by e-mail mid-May, 2009.
Accepted abstracts will be presented in conference or parallel poster sessions and will be published in the
Clinical Oral Implants Research (official publication of the European Association for Osseointegration), only if the presenter is registered before June 10, 2009.
All accepted presenters (oral and poster presentations) are required to register and pay the full fee in order to
attend the event.
All presenters must register for the conference before June 10, 2009 in order to
confirm their presentation. Failure to do this could result in losing the presentation slot and not being
published in the Clinical Oral Implants Research (official publication of the European Association for Osseointegration).
Online registration will open in March 2009.
