The European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) encourages researchers and clinicians to present, discuss, and exchange new research results within the field of implant therapy and related disciplines. Therefore, the EAO gives you the possibility to submit an abstracts for the 19th Annual Scientific Meeting of EAO taking place in Glasgow, October 6 - 9, 2010. The abstract can be submitted for :

Abstracts, in English only, can be submitted online until March 1st, 2010. Please note that it will not be possible to consider late submissions.
The accepted abstracts will be included in the scientific program and categorized according to the following six topics :
It is possible to submit more than one abstract. However, one author can be presenter only once.
The abstract (max. 400 words) is submitted online with the following subheadings :
Abstracts not prepared according to the above-described guidelines will be rejected. Please do not use abbreviations. Small tables can be included, but inclusion of figures and pictures will not be possible. Abstracts focusing on previously published or presented results will not be accepted.
Please make sure that the submitted abstract is written in correct English language without grammatical, spelling, and typing errors. Please write the text in your text program and copy-paste the text to the relevant text boxes. Replacement abstracts will not be possible after March 1st, 2010.
Please note that the presenters do not have to be members of EAO.

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by at least two reviewers with special knowledge within the specific field, thereby ensuring high standards of the accepted abstracts.
The evaluation will focus on innovativeness, originality, study design, methodological quality, data quality, as well as clinical and scientific significance of the study. Emphasis will also be put on adequate description of the study (background, aim, materials and methods, results, and conclusions, including possible clinical implications).
The accepted abstracts will be published in Clinical Oral Implants Research, the official publication of the EAO, provided the presenter has registered for the meeting before June 10th, 2010.

A notification email about acceptance/rejection and mode of presentation will be emailed to you mid-May 2010.
All presenters of short oral communications and poster presentations are required to register and pay full registration fee for the Annual Meeting before June 10th, 2010 in order to confirm their presentation. Online registration will open in March 2010.
The submission process is online only. You will initially be assigned an access code automatically to the abstract submission site. You will be able to edit, preview, modify, and cancel the abstract at any time up to the submission deadline (March 1st, 2010). If you want to submit more than one abstract you can use the same access code for each of the abstracts.

The EAO has decided to help young and talented scientists to present their latest research results by providing 20 travel grants to presenters of abstracts for short oral communications and poster presentations.
The value of each grant is up to 400 € and will be awarded directly on site after documentation of the travel expenses. The registration fees for the Annual Meeting will in addition be waived.
